Disable automatic restart after Windows Updates

Since we need MetaTrader to run 24/7, we cannot afford the Windows Server to restart automatically during Windows Updates.

The instructions below will show you how to disable the automatic restart that can happen during Windows Updates.

  1. Use the WindowsKey+R keys to open the Run window, or search for Run in the Start Menu
  2. The Run window should open
  3. In the Open field, type gpedit.msc
  4. Click OK to confirm

  1. A new Local Group Policy Editor window should open
  2. On the left side of the window, select and unfold Computer Configuration
  3. Then select and unfold Administrative Templates
  4. Then select and unfold Windows Components
  5. Then select and unfold Windows Update
  6. In the right part of the window, look for No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates
  7. Double click on it and change the value to Enabled
