Disable password expiration

By default on Windows Server, the user password usually expires after couple of weeks.

If this happen, you might struggle to connect to your VPS using the Remote Desktop.

Follow the instructions below to disable the password expiration for your user.

  1. Use the WindowsKey+R keys to open the Run window, or search for Run in the Start Menu
  2. The Run window should open
  3. In the Open field, type compmgmt.msc
  4. Click OK to confirm

  1. The Computer Management window should open
  2. On the left side of the window, select and unfold System Tools
  3. Then select and unfold Local Users and Groups
  4. Then select and unfold Users
  5. In the right part of the window, right click on your username (probably Administrator) and select Properties
  6. In the Administrator Properties window, select the General tab
  7. In the General tab, check Password never expires
  8. Click OK to confirm
