BgInfo

BgInfo is a small program that runs in the background every couple of minutes that refresh informations about the computer and shows nice statistics on the Desktop.

This is not a mandatory thing to install, but it is very useful when you have multiple VPS with different Cloud Provider or in different cities, as it's helping you to know on which VPS you are currently connected.

Once installed, you should see informations about your VPS on the top right corner of the screen.

Note: If you plan to install BgInfo, you first need to install Bash and JQ.

Installation

Automatic installation (using the installer script)

1. On the Desktop, open the Trading Files folder
2. Then open the Installers folder
3. Then open the BgInfo folder
4. Launch the Install-BgInfo.cmd script
5. Wait for the black window to finish

Manual installation

1. Obtain install files

1. Open the BgInfo Download page and download the BgInfo Zip file
2. Save the ZIP file in the Trading Files folder, in a folder called Tools.

2. Install

3. Open This PC, then go on the C:\ drive
4. Create a new folder called Tools

5. From the Desktop, open Trading Files folder, then Tools
6. Right click on the archive BgInfo.zip
7. Click on Extract All...

8. In the new window, click on Browse
9. And browse to select the folder C:\Tools so the export path shows C:\Tools\BgInfo
10. Click on Extract to extract the content of the archive

11. Go to the C:\Tools\BgInfo folder that has just been created

12. Create a new text file named Owner.txt

13. Define your name in it, and save the changes

14. Download the detect_infos.sh script

15. Save it as detect_infos.sh in the folder C:\Tools\BgInfo

16. Download the config.bgi file

17. Save it as config.bgi in the folder C:\Tools\BgInfo

18. Download the task_scheduler.xml file

19. Save it as task_scheduler.xml in the folder C:\Tools\BgInfo

20. Run the bash script detect_infos.sh

21. In the new black window, it should detect the Location and CloudProvider of your VPS

22. Open the Windows Start menu
23. Type Task Scheduler or search for it
24. Once found, click on it

25. In the Task Scheduler window that has just open
26. Click on Task Scheduler Library
27. Do a right click in the white part of the central window
28. You should see a small menu appearing, click Import Task...

29. In the new Open window, browse to the folder C:\Tools\BgInfo
30. Select the file BgInfo Refresh.xml
31. Click Open

32. In the new Create Task window that has open, click OK

33. Back to the Task Scheduler Library
34. You should see a new BgInfo Refresh line, do right click on it
35. In the menu, click on Run

36. On the Desktop, you should see the informations about your VPS
