Install MetaTrader for a specific broker and account number in the right folder

On this page, we will install MetaTrader for a specific broker and account number in the right folder structure, for a clean installation.

If you have been using the script to create the MetaTrader installation folder in the previous step of the documentation, we will be using the output of the script to help us during the installation process.

1. Launch the installer

1. Open the Downloads folder
2. Run the MetaTrader installer for the right version of MetaTrader and the right broker

2. Customize the installation path

3. Click on Settings to customize the installation path

3. Provide the right installation path

4. In the Installation folder field, click Browse

5. In the Browse For Folder window, select C:\Program Files\MetaTrader5
6. Then select the folder of the Broker (i.e., PUPrime)
7. Then select the folder Live or Demo, depending if it's a Live or a Demo account
8. Then select the folder matching the Account Type (i.e. PrimeCent)
9. If the folder named after the Account Number does not exist, click on Make New Folder to create a new folder
10. Name the new folder after the Account Number (i.e. 12345)
11. Select the Account Number folder and click OK to validate

12. Back to the previous window, the Installation folder field should match the following syntax:
    • C:\Program Files\MetaTrader5\BrokerName\LiveOrDemo\AccountType\AccountNumber
13. In the Program group field, name the program after the same syntax logic. You can copy the value from Installation folder and replace the backslashes by spaces and reducing MetaTrader5 to MT5:
    • MT5 <BrokerName> <LiveOrDemo> <AccountType> <AccountNumber>
    • In this example, it will be MT5 PUPrime Live PrimeCent 12345
14. Click on Next

15. The installation is over, click on Finishing

16. MetaTrader should open automatically, you can close the window.
